Urinary tract infection commonly called as UTI is an infection in any part of the urinary system which includes kidney, urethra, bladder and ureter. Women are at a greater risk of developing UTI rather than men. Urinary tract infection typically occurs when bacteria enter the urinary tract through urethra and begin to multiply in bladder. The risk factors for UTI include female anatomy, supressed immune system and urinary tract abnormalities. A strong persistent urge to urinate, burning sensation when urinating, frequent urination, pelvic pains are some of the symptoms of UTI. Hydrotherapy, certain packs, hip bath, dietary changes and some yoga asanas are very helpful in treating UTI.
